Alternate XP Award System

The time that D&D v.3.5 combats take in a chat-based game make the default system for XP awards too slow for the pace of this campaign.

Here is the system I’m using instead, as created by Jennifer.

Any PC whose player shows up for a session gets 1,000 xp after reaching 2nd level. Showing up is important.

Each combat encounter, story objective, and puzzle/trap completed earns additional XP according to this table:

QUEST REWARD COMBAT REWARD TRAP REWARD
Easy 100 Easy 300 Easy 150
Moderate 200 Moderate 500 Moderate 300
Difficult 300 Tough 1,000 Difficult 600
Main Quest 1,000 Boss Fight 2,000+ Deathtrap 1,000

At the party’s current level, this table is more like a guideline.

And a good line or LOL moment earns an on-the-spot bonus as well.
